You need Mining 1 to gather this ore and Skill 230 to melt it. On top of that, you have to finish a quest in the Blackrock Depth to learn it.
Blackrock Depths
You should not go alone into the Blackrock Depths, but if you have some friends with you, its a great spot to farm there. Marked here is the entry:If you are in the dungeon, make sure to kill Kriegshetzerkonstrukt because it can drop Dark Iron Ore.
Searing Gorge
Do not expect a lot of Dark Iron Ore here. But if you want to, try it!
