If your profession is not yet at least 350, the Classic Mining Guide. and the Burning Crusade Mining Guide will help you. Whether you want to skill from 350 to 375 with Northrend recipes or still with Burning Crusade materials is up to you (and the prices in your auction house).
Mining: 375-450
375-400
To gain enough skill to mine Saronite after Cobalt, it is recommended to stay in the two starting areas for Cobalt – the Borean Tundra and the Howling Fjord.
Both cobalt and saronite can spawn as “rich” deposits. They then simply replace a deposit in the usual location and have higher mining skill requirements.
An itinerary of how you might ride/fly while skilling and farming can be found below:
400-450
At skill 400, you can start mining and melting saronite. The Scholazar Basin has proven to be quite a pleasant area to farm – at least if you can fly.
Saronite can also spawn as a rich deposit and then requires a skill of 425.

Titanium Ore and Titansteel
Whether you need Titanium Ore to make something yourself or not, you’ll get the benefit of mining Titanium Ore. Titanium Ore is one of the key materials in crafting epic weapons and armor in the endgame.
Examples include theNesingwary 4000, engineering helmets like Electroflux Sight Enhancers, and the epic jeweler’s Titanium Spellshock Necklace. The ore comes from Titanium Veins, which rarely replace Saronite deposits and are only found in Wintergrasp, Icecrown, Storm Peaks, and less often in Scholazar Basin.
You will also need Titanium Bar to craftTitansteel Bar, which is also needed by pretty much all crafting professions. It is also one of the key materials for coveted engineering items like Jeeves, Mekgineer’s Chopper and Mechano-hog. To craft Titansteel you need to smelt it with Smelt Titansteel, which requires 3x Titanium Bar, 1x Eternal Fire, 1x Eternal Earth und 1x Eternal Shadow.
Achtung: Titanstahl verhütten hat wie Titanstahl transmutieren eine 20-stündige Abklingzeit.
Note: Smelt Titansteel like Transmuting Titanium Steel, has a 20-hour cooldown.
