Jewelcrafting – Wrath Classic

In this WoW Classic profession guide you will learn how to level up the Jewelcrafting profession in in Wrath of the Lich King Classic quickly and efficiently. Of course there are also corresponding guides for Classic Jewelcrafting and Burning Crusade Jewelcrafting. You want to level up another profession? This guide is based on the state of the closed beta.
Changes are still possible at any time.

Jewelcrafting is a profession that was only introduced with Burning Crusade. It teaches you its Prospecting skill, which allows you to probe ores to extract gems and adamantite powder.

Northrend Jewelcrafting Trainer

Wrath of the Lich King Classic Jewelcrafting can be learned from the following trainers:

New Materials

Green and blue stones can be prospected from all 3 WotLK ores. Epic stones can only be prospected from Titanium Ore or transmuted by the Alchemist. The meta-gemstones Skyflare Diamond and Earthsiege Diamond are also transmuted by the alchemist. (Transmute: Skyflare Diamond & Transmute: Earthsiege)

From Dragon’s Eye you cut epic gems, which only jewelers can use. They are sold in Dalaran in exchange for Juwelierssymbol by Tiffany Cartier

Titanium Powder comes from prospecting Titanium Ore.

Northsea Pearl and Siren’s Tear are sold by the trader Ahlurglgr in the Borean Tundra in exchange for Winterflossenmuschel.

Jewelcrafting: 1-375

If your profession is not yet at least 350, the Burning Crusade Jewelcrafting Guide will help you. Whether you want to skill from 350 to 375 with Northrend recipes or still with Burning Crusade materials is up to you (and the prices in your auction house).

The following list of materials is only a rough guide to get an overview of the quantitative dimensions of reagents needed to skill at maximum level! Depending on your luck or bad luck with the yellow/green recipes you might need more or less materials.

Leveling Guide

As in Burning Crusade, there is a large selection of gems you can cut per step. The most important thing is that your Jewelcrafting level increases! Buying or scouting 50 to 60 gems for the first few steps is a good start. Of course, if you already have Jewelcrafting at 375, just get 30 for now.

350-395

50-60x a recipe of your choice with one of these gems:

Blutstein, Chalzedon, Nephrit, Riesencitrin, Schattenkristall, Sonnenkristall

It’s quite likely that you’ll need some more gems here, since the recipe is yellow from 375 and no more skill points are guaranteed. But 50-60 is a solid start.

395-400

5-7x Blutsteinband, Kristallenes Chalzedonamulett, Kristallene Citrinhalskette oder Sonnenfelsring – 10-14 Kristallisierte Erde and 7x either Blutstein, Chalzedon, Riesencitrin or Sonnenkristall

400-420

From here on we continue with meta gems. Some recipes are available from the teacher, but most are sold by various merchants in Dalaran or captured from enemies in Northrend. Meta-recipes that are not available from the teacher are the following:

Dailies and Dalaran Jewelcrafter’s Token

To get Designs for epic gems and meta gems, you need Juwelierssymbol von Dalaran. For this, there are daily quests on Northrend that grant you these jeweler symbols as rewards. These recipes are sold by Tiffany Cartier in Dalaran and usually cost 3 Tokens.

To get access to these daily quests you need to have Jewelcrafting Level 375 and be able to talk to Jonas Timotheus, and subsequently complete the quest Diese Quest ist zu erledigen!Die Lieferung abfertigen. He wants exactly one Chalzedon from you, nothing more! Each of these daily quests requires you to get a special item from enemies in Northrend and then combine them with green stones. The choice of daily quest is up to you, either take the one for which you have the matching gem at hand or the one you enjoy the most.

WotLK offers us these daily quests:

Epic Gems

With presumably phase 3, epic gems will come in WotLK: Ametrine, Dreadstone, Ametrin, Schreckensstein, Kardinalsrubin, Königsbernstein, Auge von Zul and Fürstenzirkon. They are prospected from Titanium Ore, transmuted by alchemists, or may be contained in jeweler-made Eisiges Prisma. The recipes for these gems cost 4 Token, so you can only get a new one every four days. Caution is advised here! Take a look at the auction house and see which raw gems are the cheapest.
