Mining-Burning Crusade Classic

In this World of Warcraft guide everything revolves around Burning Crusade Classic Mining and how to level it.

Mining is one of the most essential gathering professions in all of WoW. It involves extracting ore from mineral nodes throughout the game, and it provides the reagents for Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. These are found using a miner’s most basic ability: Find Minerals, which indicates spawns on your minimap.

Mining can also be quite profitable by either selling stacks of ore, or by turning the ore into bars through the process of Smelting and selling stacks of the bars.

Outland Mining Trainer

Burning Crusade Classic Mining can be learned from the following trainers:

  • WoW Allianz Hurnak Grimmord – Honor Hold, Hellfire Peninsula [56.7, 63.8]
  • WoW Horde Krugosh – Thrallmar, Hellfire Peninsula [55.4, 37.6]

Mining: 1-300

To get your profession to 300 you can use our Classic Mining Guide.

Mining: 300-375

A small side note: Rich Thorium Deposits are still yellow on skill 300 and can basically grant points up to skill 340. So if you don’t want to fight with others for ores on Outland, you can fall back on them. Otherwise:

300-325

From 300-315, smelting Fel Iron Ore grants skill points.
In many cases (and if you are in a hurry) it can be worthwhile to use this for the first points – namely when the ingots are more expensive than the ore.

Fel Iron Deposit

Competition when gathering will be tough (especially at the start of the expansion so don’t get discouraged if you can’t find Fel Iron Nodes on Hellfire Peninsula. Even if you can’t find some, it has the highest number of node spawns.

325-350

From 325-340, smelting AdamantiteOre grants skill points. It can be worthwhile to use this for several easy points – especially when the bars are more expensive than the ore.

Adamantite Deposit (325)

Adamantite is not as common as Fel Iron and is the second ore you need to gather to reach 375. Like Thorium is has two kinds of nodes: Normal and Rich, which have differend skill requirements.

To efficiently gather Adamantite, the best zone is Nagrand. Just ride (or fly) in big or small circles, however you want!

350-375

From 350 to 365, smelting Eternium Ore or Felsteel (a combination of Fel Iron Bars and Eternium Bars) grants you a few easy skill points (from 357 on, though, the recipes are green and you’ll have to get a little lucky). It still can be worthwhile to use this for several easy points – especially when the ingots are more expensive than the ore.

Adamantite Deposit (325) and Rich Adamantite Deposit (350)

Adamantite is not as common as Fel Iron and is the second ore you need to gather to reach 375. Like Thorium is has two kinds of nodes: Normal and Rich, which have differend skill requirements.

To efficiently gather Adamantite, the best zone is Nagrand. Just ride (or fly) in big or small circles, however you want!

Khorium

Khorium Ore is essential to high level crafting in TBC. High-level Blacksmithing and Engineering patterns require Khorium Bar and Jewelers can get high level gems by prospecting Khorium.

To get it you need to mine Khorium Veins, which can be found in all zones of Outlands but most efficiently in Nagrand (or the Isle of Quel’Danas). You can farm it in Zangarmarsh as well, but the zone is too large which makes mining there a pain. Instead focus on Nagrand.

Eternium

Eternium Ore (like Fel Lotus for Herbalists) is a rare drop available from all nodes throughout Outlands. Out of these, however Khorium Veins, Adamantite Deposits and Rich Adamantite Deposits all have a heightened drop chance.

Farming Eternium should not be your priority, instead choose the ore you need the most and focus on farming that.
Depending on how much time you spend mining you pretty sure will find a bunch of Eternium.
